October, 2006

October 1st we went to Wyandotte, OK to a tent revival hosted by the Ministrial Alliance in that area. Good crowd, good singing, good preaching and oh those mosquitos were a sight they grow them big in Oklahoma.

Canaan Bound and Friends at Fairview Christian Church in Carthage was a great time for us.  Only our second time at Fairview, after leaving Precious Moments where we were for almost two years.  Fairvew has opened their church to us and we are so thankful for their hospitality.  No more worry about having enough room to seat everyone.  This church can seat around 1000 friends of Canaan Bound so keep on coming and bringing your friends - let's see if we can fill it up.  Thanks to the Faith Walkers who came down from Walnut Grove, MO to sing with us.  Bill Burns from Eufalla, OK was with us, although he got turned around and started back to Oklahoma, he did make it in time to leave us with a great selection of his original songs. And of course there's our friend Duke Mason. Who will be back with us in November.  See you all then!

College Street Baptist in Springfied, MO had friend day on October 15th and Canaan Bound was pleased to be invited as their friends.  We sang during the Sunday School hour and heard a great message from the pastor as he preached his heart out to a full house.  Talk about a feast there was enough food to feed an army.

A beautiful Sunday morning October 22nd, found us at Friendship Baptist Chruch on 15th Street in Joplin, MO where we were welcomed by a very friendly and loving church.  Gary met a new friend, Michael, we could hardly get them to stop talking long enough for Gary to sing.  Thanks, Friendship Baptist, for opening your church, your hearts and giving us a wonderful worship service

Friday night October 27 found Canaan Bound headed to Highland Place (between Springfield and Branson). Duke Mason and the LeCroy Sisters were there with us and all enjoyed a good evening of singing and fellowshipping.  That Gary McCracken can cook a good burger.  Thanks Gary and Judy for the invite.
